CCA Council Chalet 2004 @ Aloha Loyang - Here's a photo of some of the boys helping out at the BBQ pit... just see how sweaty they are...

Fun for the next month!

It's quite funny how I've been trying to get Mrs Gan on the phone, on MSN Messenger, on Friendster, and over e-mail - for hours before I blogged this - and finally finding out that she's away in Bali and will come back soon. You see, I was urgently trying to get her to ask her some details over the upcoming class chalet. It started with her Friendster-messaging me and I was trying to get back (to her - not at her). Then days passed without any reply and I got fed up (a bit, naturally) and anxious. The iniquities of the human mind. Anyway, it was timely that I realised that she was away on a holiday.

Looking forward to the next month. December dazzles with a class chalet, an outing to Sentosa, a lunch gathering, and probably another dinner gathering. So much to do, so much to see, so much of December fun. However, I've been feeling rather awkward not being at my table studying - but spending time on the computer for the large part of the day - getting stuff done (mind you - not playing).

Before I forget, I've completed my blog's Christmas layout... enjoy the layout and the music! Meanwhile, it's getting late down here... *yawn!* Guess I need to get more sleep... see you then!

A new phase in life!

Hiyee! Haha... back at last from a 4D3N chalet (2 chalets, in fact) and rather overwhelmed that the exams are finally over! I'm now kind of direction-less and sense-less, not knowing where I'm headed next. Been talking rather much in the past few days (even when obviously not many were listening)... the after-effects of nerdiness-turned-playfulness. Oh ya, and not to mention suffering for 3 nights with less than 8 hours of sleep in total - perpetually turning me into a "retarded, hallucinating walking zombie"! So now that I have a bit more free time - guess I have to get down to the urgencies of life - at least for now. Getting the class graduation video donw by next March, helping Mum do shopping (and carrying lots of groceries) and keeping the house clean (housework!) are the major tasks that need to be done. A-dui... that's actually quite a lot already... so I'm looking forward to the class chalet (to be confirmed!) on 15 December... to another round of fun and fired-up excitement! Will be displaying photos of my latest going-ons on the sidebar to the right, so do come back and check them out!

Final exam papers... see you after the chalet!

Konbanwa everyone! Haha... if you haven't found out yet, I've added this (lame?) useful translating add-on to my blog - near the bottom of the page. You can translate my blog (quite accurately) into the language of your choice (which is, almost for everyone - English, so what's the point of translating anyway?) Anyway, it caters to the minority of the foreigners who don't understand English (reminds me of "Catering to the Minority Groups" in Social Studies).

Crap aside, I'm really going nuts over almost everyone else finishing their exams already and the minority (including me!) having to wait for FOUR more dreary days for our papers to complete. Getting it off my mind is difficult - but what can I do - but slog on just for these FOUR more days (actually it's less than TWO more days the moment I was typing this).

Studies aside, PARTY PARTY PARTY! Chalet's coming on real soon (Tuesday 23 November)... and I'm going hyperactive over it even as I'm sitting here typing. You can click on the hyperlink (on my title for this post, above) to get to Aloha! Loyang Resort (kind of propaganda, don't you think?) They have a real wide range of units to cater to different budgets - and it so happens that the coming one's going to be one of the largest (I suspect it's the LARGEST) type of units! That's not all - I'm coming back on Friday (25 November) - because this CCA Council chalet's before ANOTHER chalet at the same location but on a different day! And I've got 2 BBQs on 2 consecutive nights! Was supposed to have another one less than one week before these 2 BBQs - but I chose to stay at home and study. After all, too much carcinogens does the body no good.

Well, I guess this post's quite long (compared to many of the previous few)... but I'm not blogging for quite long too... so I'm making this one a bit longer. So here's a "Good Luck" and "Relax!" to myself for the final papers and a "Play hard!" and "Enjoy" for the coming chalets! See you all when I get back! Signing off!

CHC "Celebrations by the Bay" @ Singapore Indoor Stadium (13.11.04) - Eagerly waiting outside the entrance: "Open Up the Gates!" (Thanks to Ho Yin for this photo!)

ONE MORE WEEK!

At almost exactly the time of this post in one week's time - my world will be relieved of a heavy burden that has been plaguing the minds and intelligence of (oh) so many people. Who ever likes (enjoys) examinations? Life's been VERY m-o-n-o-t-o-n-o-u-s these past few weeks (and months) - have been doing nothing much (really nothing much) except (trying to) study. The environment's been not rather conducive with construction work going on in the near vicinity every so often. They're always doing it at the wrong time. What with tearing down and replacing the lift lobby tiles, repainting blocks of flats, building sheltered linkways - and taking a darn long time on all of them. OK... I'll try not to blog so much about exams already... makes it even worse... going to study... see you all in about a week's time.

½way through the exams

Around a fortnight to go. The standard of the 'O' Level Examinations has been (surprisingly?) easy, or should I say, easier - than the Preliminary Examinations. Especially for subjects like E Math and Social Studies (so far), I guess we didn't expect such straightforward, in-your-head kind of questions. Anyway, today was E Math Paper 2 - the longest paper in terms of duration - 2½ hours. Almost didn't finish part of the paper - rushed till the very last minute. It had to be on a Monday. Monday blues. Anyway, the rest of the class's got about a week to do some last-minute revision while I have my second (and final paper) for this week - Combined Chemistry. Last year's graduating batch boasted of distinctions in their 'O' Level Combined Sciences results - especially for Chemistry/Biology which brought back 100% distinctions. Precisely what I'm taking. If I don't get a distinction, then that nice, round figure may be reduced. Not that I really care anyway.

Have been attending this 40 Days Of Purpose - The Purpose Driven Life course, and I got to say that it's been greatly applicable to life even as it is drawing to a close. Hosted by St. Andrew's Community Chapel (SACC) in Simei, the course helps you discover what you are here on Earth for - just slacking around, getting the five "Cs", or taking part in the paper chase? Definitely not, there has to be a much greater purpose. Anyway, I really appreciate SACC for their warm hospitality in taking care of its visiting members - to the extent that they shower you with care and concern that you never really expected. They really star in their hospitality provision.

Hafta go study Chemistry now, till the next blog. Chaoz!

Got to endure... 20 more days...

Almost there, almost there. Just have to endure through these final 20 days. The 'O' Levels have been moderately difficult so far... there's English tomorrow... hope the topics that come out are easy to relate to... gosh. Just can't explain the feeling of "letting go" all of the information in your brain on a particular subject after the subject's paper has ended. Anyway, glad my blog's hit over 1000 posts! Yeah not a big deal for many people, but at least the site's got some traffic. Why else would I bother to continue blogging? As if keeping a diary? No... oh ya I have a CCA Council chalet just after my final paper on the 23rd (argh - later than almost everyone because of Combined Bio/Chem)... so looking forward to it... ENDURE ENDURE ENDURE!
